CPR/BLS and AED for Healthcare Professionals - £50
CPR/BLS and AED for Healthcare Professionals course is to provide the learner with the skills, knowledge and understanding in the provision of Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and of the safe use and management of an Automated External Defibrillator.

This qualification offers the trained provider the opportunity to provide effective emergency lifesaving first aid care using an AED. This is achieved through the understanding of the BLS/AED algorithm and the responsibilities and treatment principles of AED use.
This course covers Basic Life Support skills and includes skills for Adult, Child and Infant as well as healthcare variations on infant CPR. The course includes: Safety, precautions, initial assessment, recovery position, CPR, compression only CPR, CPR handover and choking.

This is ideal for nurses, care workers or medical professionals needing annual updates to complete professional membership.

AED training is also included in the course. Learning AED skills is becoming more important with the increase in the numbers of units in the community and workplace. They are easy to use with a little training and make a real difference in the chance of survival to someone in cardiac arrest.

All our first aid courses fully meet the UK and European Resuscitation Council Guidelines 2015 as per the HSE requirements.

The content of this and all our courses has been independently certified as conforming to universally accepted Continuous Professional Development (CPD) guidelines and come with a Certified CPD Statement.

About the Course
Why You NEED PILS:
1. Save Lives in Critical Moments
When a child or infant faces a medical emergency — whether it’s choking, cardiac arrest, or severe allergic reactions — quick action is crucial. PILS gives you the confidence to step up and act decisively, whether you're at the clinic, in the hospital, or even at home.
2. Tailored to the Needs of Children
Unlike general life support training, PILS focuses specifically on pediatric patients. Learn the right techniques for infant and child CPR, using an AED on younger patients, and managing airway blockages — all the skills you need to respond to life-threatening situations with calm and competence.
3. Handle Pediatric Emergencies with Confidence
Choking: Know exactly what to do if a child is choking.
Respiratory or Cardiac Arrest: Respond fast to a child’s stopped heart or breathing.
Anaphylaxis: Be prepared to handle a severe allergic reaction, and administer epinephrine.
Severe Asthma Attacks: Calmly manage asthma flare-ups and keep the child breathing.
4. Advanced Techniques for Pediatric Care
Learn the advanced techniques that give you the edge in emergency situations, like pediatric shock management, and how to monitor vital signs while waiting for medical professionals to arrive. You’ll feel ready for anything.
5. Work Efficiently with Your Team
Emergencies require teamwork. PILS trains you to work seamlessly with colleagues, parents, and caregivers, ensuring everyone knows their role to save time and provide the best care.
